Miss
Mavrik
Style: Funky,
Chunky House
Location: UK
Miss Mavriks love of house music started at a very early age.
Her home town of Manchester gave access to the rising dance
scene in the North West of England. She partied in probably
every known UK Super Club in the best years of the 90's.
During this time her career took many a positive turn. In
her teenage years she trained as an athlete reaching
international standards, competing several times for Great
Britain over 400m hurdles. After giving up her sport she
successfully worked as a model and television presenter. A
career that took her to many parts of the world. While
modelling on campaigns ranging from Guiness to Nike, she
presented on shows for the BBC, ITV and Ch4.
Always
eager to challenge herself and try new things she invested in
some decks early in 2005. House music had always been a
passion but she had never seriously acted upon it. Her DJ
debut came on the off chance that a friend needed cover in a
London club. After playing she realised she had found her
vocation and soon found herself with offers to play in venues
across London and the UK.
Durning 2008 Miss Mavrik
completed her 3rd seasons in Ibiza, also holding residencies
in Istanbul, Rome, London and St Tropez. That year saw her
play at venues including 360, The Egg, 24 and The Supperclub.
She also toured Europe as part of the Fuel Girls Tour playing
in over 13 countires in as many weeks, accompanying the girls
on stage as their Dj and part of the Hot Import Nights Djs
(UK/USA).
2009 was equally as convincing, while playing
a blend of progressive and tech house she performed gigs
internationally in countries such as Spain, Italy, Ibiza,
Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and France. Miss Mavrik also
stepped into production, one of her first tracks is a remix of
"come my way" the Tom Nevile and Stafford Brothers single.
Working alongside Juan Kidd to create a house version of the
mix, the track is to be released early sometime this year on
Toolroom Records.
Miss Mavrik is also the currently
face of Kam Dj Equipment and The 00DJ, while last year she
shot the cover for Trend Music Magazine (Italy) and appeared
as the May calender addition for Calendance Music Magazine
(Italy).
The abbreviated name "Miss Mavrik" depicts a
confident independent indiviual. A person who does not abide
by the rules and above all is a player of many hands.
