DJ Georgia Girl

Location: UK

Profile
Georgia is a 25-year-old London based DJ/producer and is a rising star on the London House scene. She plays a blend of Deep, Soulful, Tech and Funk-fuelled House and has done professionally, since 1999.
‘As a person I have a strong love of various music genres, particularly House music and I use Georgia Girl (the artist) as a way of communicating that passion to those who are listening. As an artist, I guess you could say I have lots to say and have been lucky enough to find a way to say and express it.’
Taking her influences from a range of established luminaries such as Timmy Regisford, Stevie Wonder, Quentin Harris, DJ Heather, JoVonn, DJ Deep, Kerri Chandler, Fred Everything, DJ Spinna, Masters at Work, Tony Humphries, DJ Spen, Marques Wyatt, Todd Terry and Blaze. Georgia’s varied style rejects pigeon-holing and constantly evolves to suit the moment.
‘It’s fair to say that I’m becoming more eclectic as time goes on and continue to have an open mind…’
Since arriving onto the London dance scene, Georgia Girl has most notably established her distinct sound through her weekly Sunday radio show 'The Sunday Sanctuary' on Unknown 90.2 FM, one of London’s leading underground House music stations & her affiliation to the BlowinEast collective; with whom she established a residency at MUAK (where guests included Franck Roger, Audiowhores, DJ Deep and Marques Wyatt.) seeing her through 2004/05.
2005 saw Georgia tour China with her vocalist sister Alex Mills, where they both took their distinctively underground sound to the Chinese Masses. This was followed later that year by a tour of Thailand where she head-lined at some of the countries most talked about venues, including Astra (Bangkok) and Mint Bar (Koh Samui).
She also held a year-long, monthly residency in Rome (Italy) for the infamous nightclub Hulala where she hosted the monthly night 'Vive Les Filles' Aside from this, Georgia continues to make regular appearances in France, Italy & Asia, as well as residencies at home in London at The Whitehouse & The Lodge, alongside co-host Manish, consistently playing to a loyal, friendly party crowd.
2006 has seen Georgia play alongside the like of Robert Owens, Fanatix & Frankie Feliciano for various London based promotions including Journeys & Need2Soul.
Georgia is the first lady of BlowinEast, a collective of like-minded souls consisting of Dj's, Producers, Designers & Singer/Songwriters with whom she frequently hosts nights around the capital ranging from intimate venues such as Cherry Jam & AKA to clubs such as The End & Neighbourhood.
‘I have played at some amazing venues with phenomenal sound-systems, usually with a crowd to match.' Some of these include; The Cross (London), The Key (London) Alexandra Palace (London), Turnmills (London) The Rhythm Factory (London) Pacha (London) The Egg (London), Bora Bora (Ibiza), La Terazza (Rome), La Discoteca (Cannes) Da Freak (Alamty, KZ) Club Feelnet (Guangzhou), Betise Loft (San Remo) Angel Club (Beijing), Hulala Club (Rome), Astra (Bangkok) Mint Bar (Koh Samui) and VIP Room (St. Tropez)
More recently, Georgia has been spending more time in the studio concentrating on her forthcoming release, coming very soon.
‘Music is my life… House is my favourite feeling!'
